The BookShed

The BookShed provides daily news and comment about the publishing business and is home to a popular writers' forum. The site also includes opinion, blogs, author profiles and features about the book business, as well as an extensive and searchable archive of previously published content.

The BookShed required a new logo and look and feel for the site. There was a requirement to integrate social media platforms, allow visitors to comment on news and opinion pieces.

The site forum was to stand alone but needed to carry through the look and feel of the rest of the site. We integrated the vBulletin set-up.

The challenge for M&B was to build the new site around an open source Content Management System to allow the site users to continue updating content after development ended. We chose Drupal and built our own CSS skin. The original site relied heavily on tables, which we replaced with XHMTL compliant layout.
